![]() Fantastic Enjoyable MusicInspired by Morton Feldman’s multi-piano pieces, renowned Californian avant garde pianist Harold Budd rallied together two of his close friends and created six pieces of hauntingly beautiful music. This re-issue from Eno’s All Saints label makes the record finally available to the public again.. The album is a cascade of delicate beauty, less electronic than much of Budd’s work, and missing that ‘classic’ reverb sound he has become so famed for using. The sparse nature of his compositions feel fleshed out by his companions’ piano parts - ‘Pulse, Pause, Repeat’ opens the record with a mood of melancholic reflection, and by the time ‘Music for 3 Pianos’ comes to a close with the quiet but triumphant ‘La Casa Bruja’ you realise that for its short duration you have been drawn into another world. This is Budd’s true strength, to remove you from everyday life and make music which belongs someplace else. Amazing music.. Track listing
