This 9-CD boxed set, the latest installment in the Michael Gielen Edition, brings a sense of climax to the first four volumes. Volume 4 is a collection of works by Romantic composers, not confined solely to the 19th century. Of all the boxed sets released so far, this latest volume contains the most first releases 14 of the 23 works have never been released before on CD, including extensive works such as Berliozs Requiem and Schumann's Scenes from Faust.
