At the meeting of 20thOctober 2012, at the house of Andreas Pollakis, we unfortunately were less members that were expected although it was worth that we should be more of us.

The System...

The system of Andreas is the Known 3way almost DIY. With Andreas we are very near for many years with subjects concerning the reproduction of music always experimenting to find ways to improve the sound.

Our aim is to come as near as we can to live music and not the one that can be heard through microphones and power amplifiers. In adaptation this music be heard with the same quality in small and bigger places and make the listener feel that is present to this “live” execution.

From our point of view we manage to do so although there is much more to be done.

The Listening...

Andreas played many “difficult songs that had no individual feeling richness of euphony or music” and in such a program if it is not succeeded that the violin can be heard as violin, the drums as drums, the lyricism of men and women voices and generally the right harmonic sound coloring the result can be very disappointing.

Did the system succeeded in doing so?
In my opinion yes it was very near. There was a very good timing, a good separation of instruments, real feeling of voices as being heard next to you,[van der graf]

The sound coming from the inside of the guitar at Peppersas well as the quick drums make me have “strong feelings”!

During the hearing of songs and generally the instrument playing you had the feeling of the effort of the musician who wanted to send his messages and “say something” to you...

As far as the hosting and the warmness of Valias and Andreas house I have nothing to say as George wrote about it with great sensitivity in the last meeting and hearing we had last summer at their house.

The dinner...

I can only say this... Although there was a decision (due to economic crisis) not to offer food there were DIY special homemade Greek dishes one better from the other like juicy staffed vine leaves, red peppers, olive bread, and many other sweet and salty delicious goodies, as well as wine and Cretan raki! Those who didn’t come missed this well organized event at Andreas and Valias house.
