Download of the Week: Orchestra Baobab
"West Africa's most iconic dance-band". Sunnier days. I first found Orchestra Baobab through their 2015 release Pirates Choice. Digging that, and digging back into their catalog, Bamba (Sterns, 1993) rung my bell the mostest. This is beautiful soulful dance music that makes me want to close my eyes and imagine other sunnier climes.

Look Ma, no DAC! The Lumin M1 takes your network-attached digital music files (up to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD128 via DoP), converts them to 24/176.4 (PCM), which in turn gets converted to a pulse-width modulated (PWM) signal, and outputs 60wpc into 8 Ohms and 100wpc into 4.

Word. The The Verge reports that Spotify subscribers are receiving teaser offers for Spotify's not-yet-available lossless streaming tier ranging in price from $5 to $10 on top of the $10/month Premium Service fee. This puts Spotify's lossless service within or on the same plane as Tidal HiFi's $19.99/mo.

Peachtree Audio nova300 Amplifier
What's 2.0? The short answer--improvements (here's the longer answer). Late last year, David Solomon rejoined Peachtree and the company made some other (major) changes; a new engineering team was brought on board to create the new Nova line of amplifiers (nova150, nova300, and nova500) and manufacturing of the Nova line was brought back from China to Canada.
