An A/B Test For AudioStream Readers
I'm not a fan of using the word "test" when talking about listening to music since there's nothing to test beyond our enjoyment. Some people feel otherwise. Here's a test related to this un-great debate.

Dunnun Kan & Chesky Records Special Deal For AudioStream Readers
From now until October 31, 2015, readers of this website will get a 25% discount on the new 24-bit high resolution Dunnun Kan album and/or anything in Chesky's hi-res catalog on HDTracks.com.

Download of the Week: Albert Ayler
I love Albert Ayler; The man, the music, the spirit. ESP-Disk is one wonderful home to many of Albert Ayler's records and they've just reissued Live on the Riviera from 1970. I bought it, I've listened to it a number of times and I, of course, love it.

Audeze Deckard Headphone Amplifier and DAC
The main character in Ridley Scott's Blade Runner from Philip K. Dick's novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? is named Rick Deckard. Blade Runner is one of my favorite movies so I could not disassociate typing or saying "Deckard" from thinking of the film. Phew. I'm glad I got that off my mind.

Listening to Ethernet ($10,000 Ethernet Cables!!)
Pardon the radio silence but I'm deep into comparing the various Ethernet devices I have on hand. I've also decided to throw in three different Ethernet cables since you can't talk about Ethernet without talking about some sort of cable.

The Shunyata Research HYDRA TRITON v2, HYDRA TYPHON, HYDRA DPC-6 v2
These no-compromise products are created by Shunyata’s owner and chief designer, Caelin Gabriel; a man who has been steadily improving his company’s products since his first power conditioner offering in 2001. Shunyata Research’s products have not only been embraced by audiophiles, but by commercial recording studios, orchestras, and other commercial audio designers.

Download of the Week: Songs Of Debussy And Mozart
I wish I had more to say, but I don't. Songs Of Debussy And Mozart (ECM, CD rip) is simply beautiful--Juliane Banse, soprano, and András Schiff, piano, re-tell the tales of poets in songs by Debussy and Mozart. I've been listening to their re-telling for over 10 years and it only gets better with age (mine).

Bluesound Gen 2!
I missed yesterday's Bluesound press event which I was very much looking forward to (remnants of food poisoning made the trip to NYC daunting). If you remember back to when we were first introduced to Bluesound (see Intro), the company sits under the Lenbrook Industries Limited umbrella along with NAD and PSB whose knowledge and technology helped build the Bluesound line.

Ethernet Noise: Proof Of Concept
I received an email from Steve McNally of DJM Electronics wherein he asked if I'd be interested in giving one of their Ethernet EMI filters a listen. I said, "Yes". I'll be writing about the DJM Electronics GigaFOILv3 ($1,000) in the not too distant future.

USB Accessory Roundup: UpTone Audio USB REGEN, AudioQuest JitterBug, Schiit Wyrd
Let's begin with the easy part; if you've read my reviews of the UpTone Audio USB REGEN (review), AudioQuest JitterBug (review), and Schiit Wyrd (review), you'll have read that I heard a difference when each device was in and out of my systems. Generally, I would describe those differences as an improvement which is all well and good but inquiring minds want to know which device is best and what happens when you put them together.
