In a cross-label move similar to the Stones stereo box sets from ABKCO and UMe, Tom Petty's complete vinyl catalog will be issued in two limited edition 180 gram box sets: one featuring his MCA output (1976-1991) and one covering his later Warner Brothers catalog (1994-2014).
Newvelle Records Vinyl Project Launches Season Two Via Kickstarter

Jazz at Lincoln Center To Release 4 LP Vinyl Box Set "Live in Cuba"
LIVE IN CUBA--the acclaimed album from the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis--comes out as a deluxe vinyl box set next week. The release's four 180g LPs are accompanied by a gorgeous booklet and a digital download of the album that includes never-before-heard track "Oo Na Ney" featuring Chucho Valdes and the Afro-Cuban Messengers.
Veteran Jazz Dealer Jeff Barr Opens Euphoria Records in Palm Desert, CA.
Veteran jazz record dealer Jeff Barr, who I've known since the 1980s has opened Euphoria, a new record store in Palm Desert, California. The store includes jazz, rock, blues and classical records. Barr buys and sells and also will do consignment type sales for you. He also says his store is "Hi-Fi Haven!" (but does he mean "heaven"? He also offers a turntable tuneup service.
Ten LP Kinks Mono Box Cut by Kevin Gray From Original Analog Masters
A "Kinks in Mono" box set is due for release overseas shortly and in America on December 16th. The good news is that all of the original albums in the box were cut by Kevin Gray at Cohearant Mastering supervised by Andrew Sandoval, using the original UK Pye NPL analog masters.
Record Racks From Tony's Woodshop
A few years ago we alerted readers to an identical replacement record rack for the Per Madsen "Rackit" record storage system from TwoCan HiFi. ($99.95 if you order four or more, lesser amounts priced accordingly). Recently we heard about a less costly record shelving system from Tony's Woodshop, in Cresson, Pennsylvania. Vinyl storage units cost from between $40 and $45 (unfinished) depending upon wood. Add $12.00 for finished units.
